Ivanhoe
Sir Walter ScottĄ¯s Ivanhoe is a sweeping tale of romance, chivalry, and adventure. ItĄ¯s set against the backdrop of medieval England and takes us from Prince JohnĄ¯s tournament where Ivanhoe triumphs with the aid of King Richard; to RobinĄ¯s Sherwood Forest; to the capture and rescue of fair maidens; and to the stake where the lovely Rebecca is sentenced to burn as a witch because she will not relinquish her virtue.
Even though only a small portion of the 432 pages of the book have anything to do with women it contains an excellent example of womanhood and is recommended on that basis.
